Creativity is primarily about going beyond social norms. Modifying, transforming, diversifying. Going against the current. Ultimately, only by following your own path will you discover the unknown, whereas by following the crowd, you will end up where everyone else is Creativity is often mixed with art, but it’s somewhat different. True artists are rarely appreciated in their lifetime because art transcends time, so in the present, they are considered madmen, outsiders, and eccentrics. It’s only after some time that people begin to appreciate someone who painted such a beautiful picture. Artists often say that they didn’t write a song, paint a picture, or sculpt something (and I’m not talking about muscular work
), but it came to them like a bolt from the blue, making them merely a tool in theory. Without any analysis, business plan, project, or preparation. They just started doing it! But well, it was supposed to be about creativity…
Creativity can help you in every aspect of your life! Whether it’s cooking, work, or everyday life, you can start having a great time today and expand your current thinking. Alright, you’re thinking, everything’s cool, but how do you learn it? You don’t have to learn it because each of us is born creative, it’s just often beaten out of our heads. As children, we are capable of doing amazing things solely through our imagination, and yet no one taught us that. It’s within us! We could turn a blanket into a great fortress; we saw things that adults didn’t notice. That’s creativity! Making something out of nothing. But then school came along. The magic vanished. They made us memorize various strange formulations and multiplication tables, sit straight in our desks and listen, while in our heads, we only thought about when the break would come and we could play tag I’m absolutely not denying that, of course, education is necessary and important, but it’s a shame that it comes at the expense of something else. Can’t we educate differently, like in Western countries? Creative thinking fosters innovative ideas, and creativity is achieved through internal relaxation. Only when you enter adulthood do you begin to understand all of this, that they don’t teach us creative thinking in school, and you don’t understand the children who come to you with a piece of paper and say it’s a dragon
To evoke creativity, you don’t have to read a lot about it; try these few ways—it’s childishly simple! You’ll see how your thinking changes and how you engage other cells in action
- Brush your teeth with your non-dominant hand
- Take a different route to work than usual
- Embrace more spontaneity – not everything needs to be heavily planned and routine!
- Do a little rearranging in your room/apartment
You’ll see how your thinking changes, and you’ll notice things you didn’t pay attention to before Share them!
It would be great if reading this post gave you as much joy as writing it did for me Let me know in the comments what you think about it. Do you have any reflections of your own? Go ahead!
Very inspiring approach! I especially love the idea of changing daily habits, like brushing your teeth with the other hand. Do you have any other unique ways to boost creativity?Telkom University Jakarta
