The book-shaped coffee table is made of oak wood. I wanted to recreate as closely as possible what I had in mind because the only thing I managed to note down was the dimensions of the tabletop, 85 x 55 cm. The rest is imagination.
The book pages are made of alternating strips of oak veneer and hardwood. There is a hidden push-to-open drawer inside, and its front has a U-shaped profile. I aged the tabletop using a wire brush angle grinder to give it a textured wood grain. Additionally, there are decorative router cuts and some details. I turned the legs on a lathe. They taper from 50 mm diameter to 25 mm diameter. The entire piece is coated with a hard-matte Osmo oil-wax finish.
